A Legacy in Water Infrastructure and Chemical Feed Systems

Founded in the early 2000s, Underground Solutions, Inc. (UGSI) began as an innovation leader in water and wastewater infrastructure, pioneering trenchless technology solutions through its Fusible PVC® piping systems. These corrosion-resistant, leak-free pipelines transformed underground installation methods for utilities and municipalities across North America.

In 2012, the company accelerated the development of integrated systems supporting sustainable, efficient water management. That same year, UGSI broadened its footprint in water treatment by acquiring the Wallace & Tiernan® chemical feed product lines, including the well-known PolyBlend® polymer activation systems, Encore® metering pumps, and Varea-meter® flow measurement equipment.
These additions established the foundation for UGSI’s chemical feed division—an operation designed to deliver precision dosing, disinfection, and chemical control solutions for municipal and industrial applications.

In 2016, Aegion Corporation acquired Underground Solutions, Inc., integrating UGSI’s trenchless pipeline technologies into Aegion’s water and wastewater services. The chemical feed and disinfection business continued to operate under the UGSI Solutions brand, expanding its presence globally with a focus on reliability, automation, and performance.
