PureAir® Drum Scrubber (DS) is a self-contained vent control system.

This deep bed scrubber provides cost-effective air purification for small flow odor air streams ranging in volume (without prefiltering or mist/grease elimination) from 100 to 1,000 CFM.

The PureAir DS system may be connected to an exhaust vent and used for passive odor control or environmental emission applications. The most common applications are process vessels, storage tanks, sewage lift stations, and package sewage treatment plants. Drum scrubbers do not include prefilters, final filters, or mist/grease eliminators. Larger systems will include a blower to ensure active purging of contaminants.

FACILITY TYPE: City of Camas, Pump Station for Wastewater Treatment Plant

LOCATION: Camas, Washington

EQUIPMENT/MEDIA USED: Drum Scrubber (DS-500) and Sulphasorb XL™ chemisorbant media and CPS Blend chemisorbant media

PROBLEM: Odor complaints from surrounding community from wastewater at the pump station

SOLUTION: PureAir installed a DS-500 filled with two types of chemisorbant media to remove odors at the pump station. With a 99.5% removal efficiency, the drum scrubber turned out to be the economical solution they needed because they continue to rely on PureAir for replacement media.
