Our Story

Cleanwater1's story begins with its founder Andy Seidel, who was founder of Underground Solutions Incorporated or UGSI.  As UGSI, the company provided chemical feed and water disinfection technologies to municipal and industrial clients. 

With the addition of PAX Water and PSI Water, the company lead the industry in featuring the industry's only complete set of water quality solutions focused on distribution networks.  From tank mixing, to DBP removal, to disinfectant residual management, UGSI Solutions was the only company offering the full set of "outside the fence" water quality solutions. UGSI's iconic brands included Encore® metering pumps, Varea-Meter® flow meters and Polyblend® polymer activation systems, Microclor® on-site hypochlorite generation, Monoclor® RCS disinfectant residual management and Tank Shark® tank and reservoir mixing systems. 

In September 2022, Andy Seidel passed the reins to David Stanton. David is the Chief Executive Officer for cleanwater1 (previously known as UGSI Solutions).  David brings over 30 years of water and environmental industry experience to Cleanwater1.  

In an effort to combine technologies to elevate our services and deliver enhanced support for our customers in January 2024, Cleanwater1 completed the acquisition of Velocity Dynamics.  They are a leading solutions provider of branded, proprietary dry and liquid feed systems for the optimization of chemistry in water and wastewater utilities and industrial plants.

In February 2025, Cleanwater1 completed the acquisition of Integrity Municipal Systems (IMS), a leading technology and solutions provider of branded, engineered lime systems, odor control and chemical feed system process solutions for the water and wastewater industry. 

As part of Cleanwater1’s continued growth strategy, the acquisition of ICS will integrate proven expertise in SCADA systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and custom control panel design directly into our operational framework. This addition is expected to streamline project delivery, improve system performance, and provide clients with more robust and reliable water treatment infrastructure.

As part of Cleanwater1’s continued growth strategy, the company has acquired PureAir Filtration, a trusted provider of air treatment solutions that eliminate corrosive gases, toxic vapors, and nuisance odors. PureAir offers manufactured equipment, chemisorbant media, and aftermarket services.

Its solutions are widely used to control corrosion in industrial environments, protect staff and surrounding communities from toxic gas exposure, improve air quality, and remove odorous gases generated in wastewater and biogas operations.
